Spoken Language Processing Group

The Spoken Language Processing Group at Columbia pursues research in summarization and information extraction from speech; speaker state(deceptive, charismatic, and emotional speech); prosodic variation and the automatic detection of prosodic events; Spoken Dialogue Systems (cue phrases, turn-taking, given/new information status); text-to-pictures generation; dialect identification; and prosody in language learning.
