10/19/11: Homework 1 is out. It consists of a simple exercise on AWS and is due Nov 2 at 12pm. For extra credit, you can build a really cool Web service on AWS and show it off in the last class.
09/26/11:Avner May has been named TA for this class. Avner will be holding office hours Mondays 1pm-2pm. Please submit all of your reviews to him, as well.
09/14/11: I modified the grading structure of the class to include the two options I presented in class. The updated grading scheme is available here. The updated class schedule is also relevant.
09/13/11: I modified the project's timeline in two ways:
- I postponed the final report submission date until December 17. This will provide you with a bit more time to work on the final report without having to worry about classes and also allow you to incorporate any feedback you receive during your presentation on Dec 7.
- I added another intermediary milestone (Nov. 16) to ensure that you build up your final report progressively.
09/05/11: I made several changes to the class structure, which are reflected in this web page's contents:
- I eliminated the open-ended question from the review of each paper. I may still provide you ahead of time with a list of questions/topics I want to discuss in class, but you won't have to comment on them in your review. The updated review structure is here.
- I updated the class' structure to include student presentations followed by class discussions. The updated class structure is explained here.
- I updated the grading system to take into account paper presentations. The new version is available here.
