About Me

I am a PhD student in the Computer Science Department at Columbia University since January 2007. I am associated with the Languages and Compilers Group. My advisor is Prof. Stephen Edwards.

I received my Bachelors in Computer Science from RV College of Engineering (VTU), Bangalore in the year 2005. I obtained my Masters degree in Computer Science from Columbia University in February 2008.

I worked for about a year at Yahoo Research and Development Centre (Bangalore) in 2005. I interned at Bell Labs (New Jersey), IBM T.J. Watson Research Center (New York), Microsoft Research (UK) and Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) during the summers of 2009, 2008, 2007 and 2005 respectively.

Research

My research interests lie in programming principles, distributed/multicore systems and concurrent models.
I am looking at code generation and analysis techniques for deterministic concurrent languages. I am currently working on the SHIM programming language.
