I am currently working on Google's search infrastructure. I was previously a Research Scientist at Intel where I worked on optimization of high performance computing applications.

I received my PhD in Computer Science from Columbia University in the year 2011. I also received my MPhil in Computer Science and MS in Computer Science from Columbia University. I received my Bachelors in Computer Science from RV College of Engineering (VTU), Bangalore in the year 2005.

I worked for about a year at Yahoo Research and Development Centre (Bangalore) in 2005. I interned at Bell Labs (New Jersey), IBM T.J. Watson Research Center (New York), Microsoft Research(UK) and Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore) during the summers of 2009, 2008, 2007 and 2005 respectively.

I received the 2010 Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship.[News]

Research

My research interests lie in high performance computing, programming principles, distributed/multicore systems and concurrent models.
I am currenly trying to reduce the latency of a Google search query.
