The Columbia Machine Learning Laboratory uses funding to support PhD students and MS students as well as post-doctoral associates. These funds cover tuition and provide a small monthly stipend for students as they pursue important research that promises to have broad impact on the field and on society. A small amount of funding is used for computer equipment and travel to conferences or government labs to present talks on our research. Most funding comes from government grants for specific projects where we provide deliverables in terms of software, data, and documentation/publications. Corporations also provide directed research grants which entail deliverables. However, we often obtain gift grants from corporations which are not tied to specific research projects but help us in our overall mission. Even individuals can provide gift grants to help us in our research in machine learning. We would like to thank the following for their support: The National Science Foundation The Central Intelligence Agency The KDD Program The Office of Naval Research The Department of Homeland Security The National Security Agency Alphastar My Producer Gift grants should be addressed to: The Department of Computer Science at Columbia University Re: The Columbia Machine Learning Lab Gift Fund and mailed to: Department of Computer Science at Columbia University 1214 Amsterdam Avenue, Mail Code 0401 New York, NY 10027 | |||||||||
