The development of interfaces capable of presenting complex multimedia
information is a key growth area, both in terms of architecture and in terms of
layout. As for architecture, our hybrid approach between fat and then clients
will permit the exploration of new ways to capitalize on computational
developments in web environments. We have developed a framework using a
generic query (GQ) approach in order to the support user's query construction
process. The GQ consist of a query template to represent an "answerable"
clinical question. Our contributions consist of building and evaluating models
for clinical querying and user interaction, including ways to store the generic
queries for future inferencing. We will measure similarity between the user's
information needs and collected GQs in an integrated multimodal query
interface.
