  • Spring-09 Mid term will be held on March 5th in class hours. It will be closed book. One double sided cheat sheet is allowed. A Sample mid-term has been posted in Courseworks.

  • Mid-Term special! Extra office hours for the first week of March
    • Prof. Tal - Mon: 2:30p - 4:30p, Wed: 1p-3p
    • Sharath - Mon, Wed: 10:30a-12:30a, Tue: 12:30p-2:30p

  • Problem Set 5 - Late homeworks will not be accepted.

  • Problem Set 5 - First problem contains a typo and has been updated on Wed, feb 25. Thanks to Mike Hernandez for pointing it out.

  • Mid Term Average: 79.1; Standard Deviation: 17.7

  • We will have a recitation this friday: Apr 24th. Please send the TA your preferred timing and specific topics which you would like the TA to cover

  • There will be no class on Apr 30th. Instead there will be a make up class on Fri May 1st from 1:45 to 3:00 pm. The location is 825 Mudd.

  • A sample final has been uploaded in courseworks. The final is closed book, and with two double-sided "cheat-sheets". It is cumulative, but with a focus on the second half of the class (computability and complexity parts).

  • If you require a make up final, please email Prof Malkin with the details of the conflicting classes : name, class time, and instructor name. Also please indicate whether Thursday 9-12 would be a good time for a make up final if we end up having one.


  • For submitting Problem Set 12, you can either slide them under the door of Prof Malkin's room or submit to Sharath in TA hours.
