I am a Computer Science PhD candidate at Columbia University in New York City. My advisor is Professor
Luis Gravano. My research interests include Machine Learning, Data Mining and Information Retrieval. My current research involves developing techniques for event identification from social media sites such as Flickr, YouTube, and Twitter.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics in 2004 from Stony Brook University, Magna Cum Laude. I went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Summa Cum Laude at Columbia University in 2005. Currently I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Columbia University.
My hobbies include running, practicing yoga, pilates, food (cooking/baking and eating) and wine.
