Microsoft Messenger

Microsoft Messenger version 4.6 for Windows XP and 2000 supports SIP voice and video calls. To set up SIP calls:

  1. Go to Tools/Options/Accounts menu.
  2. Check Communication service.
  3. Fill in your SIP address-of-record, e.g., alice@example.com.
  4. In the Advanced menu, check Configure setting and set the server to your SIP server.

To make a call

  1. In Actions menu, choose Start voice/video conversation.
  2. Choose Other tab and input the SIP address, e.g. bob@elsewhere.edu.

Only versions > XXX support SIP Digest authentication.

Application sharing does not work for "guest" accounts.
