For calibration, the sample at normal position
gave the stam at the central value where the 
photometer reads. The stem is much brighter than
the rest of the leaf (and is saturated in pixel value
to prevent the rest of the leaf from  being to dark).
To avoid measuring the stem, the sample was shifted off center.
The grid remained centered with respect to the 
robot gripper.
