I obtained my Ph.D. from Department of Electrical Engineering, Columbia University in May, 2001. Since then I have been a Member of Technical Staff in Mobile Networking Research department, Bell Labs Research, Lucent Technologies in Holmdel, New Jersey. You can find my current work here.

Under guidance of professor Henning Schulzrinne of Department of Coumputer Science, I conducted my Ph.D. research at Internet Real-Time Laboratory (IRT). My dissertation research was on scalable and efficient architectures for delivering multimedia applications over heterogeneous networks reliably and with high quality. Previously, I also conducted research on content distributions, multicast routing and reliability, and performance evaluation of LDAP. My current research interests are in the areas of wireless networking and mobile computing, and network support of real-time applications.

While studying at Columbia, I spent my summers working at industrial research labs, including Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Telcordia Technologies (Bellcore), Reuters, and GTE Laboratories.

Before coming to Columbia, I had worked in the area of Networks and Multimidia on the issues like scheduling in ATM network, video and speech processing, etc. And I got my BS and MS degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Wireless Communications Engineering, respectively, from  Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China.
