I have put the testing program in /proj/irt/wenyu/. The tar file is weather.tar, and ott_mon/ is the directory of extracted files. (the tar file itself doesn't create a directory) I have enabled rwx permissions for ott_mon/. Do you want more detailed running instructions? Basically, on a machine A from Columbia, we start the program "module". On machine B at GMD, we start "module" as well. They are "daemon" programs so they return from shell immediately. Now, from any machine, A, B, or anybody, we run "monitor", and issue a bunch of commands through keyboard. Then the transmission and collection will occur. If I make A as sender, then trace file will be stored on A, and I don't need to ftp any file from GMD. So this means if you started "module" on a GMD machine, then I can take care of the rest work (unless the "module" program core-dumps). All I need to know is B's IP address. No shell parameter is needed for "module". Hello, Prof. Garcia I am a PhD student at Columbia University in computer science. I am working with Prof. Henning Schulzrinne. Can I ask you to do me a favor: I want to make some Internet delay/loss measurement across several sites. Can I ask you to create an temporary account at UCSC for me? I only need it for a few weeks. The testing programs is a one-way measurement tool. It is compiled for Sparc Solaris. I expect to run it for several hours for each test, which is about 10-15 MB disk file. If you have any question, please let me know. I wish to complete the test as soon as possible, because I will leave for summer internship in June. Thank you very much. Wenyu
