roberts hi thanks for looking in the deadline looms for electors to be selected in florida and of course the nation's attention is focused on one north of florida on washington and a decision still pending from the nine u. s. supreme court justices as usual there's no indication at all when the high court might issue his ruling but with the presidency at stake in time running out many expect a quick decision with more the supreme court another election developments here's jonathan aiken still no decision from the u. s. supreme court in the case of bush versus gore lawyers for governor george w. bush want the court to strike down the florida supreme court decision that allowed manual recounts of disputed ballots across the state vice president al gore needs those recounts if he is to overcome mr. bush's lead in florida if the court decides to stop the recounts the vice president is effectively out of options and may have to concede the election it's better for the supreme court to intervene perhaps and decide the case and for having this going into congress where then i think i mean i think this is all trials play compared what would happen if congress had to vote and elect the next president meanwhile the republican controlled florida house of representatives is likely to vote tuesday on a rizzo lucian approving its own slate of electors to the electoral college one that will be played to governor bush as the debate continued in tallahassee state lawmakers were waiting for the supreme court in washington who play though they're going to give us a path to find out if they do then i think all of us will be very very glad
