The Massively Parallel DADO Machine

xDado2 Machine Front View
Dado2 Machine Cabinet/Logo

This cool looking machine was actually designed by me and my former associates. Its the DADO machine.
xDado2 Machine Internal View
This version, the DADO2, has 1023 microprocessors all working together in this 2 cubic foot box to speed up all sorts of intelligent programs, those written in a rule-based style.
xDado2 Machine Daughter Boards
The machine was successfully demonstrated on December 5, 1985. It was also designed to be really fast at speech recognition to spot words in continuous speech many times real time. This is very useful on a network to listen to many voices in multiplex fashion to respond to each within an appropriate time frame.
xDado2 Backplane
Really cool machine and one of the initial group emanating from the DARPA Strategic Computing Program. The patented DADO technology is in the commercial domain and you may some day use it without even knowing it!
