At the end of 1982, Time Magazine picked "The Computer" as Man of the Year. In response, a local news program ran a story about the choice. Click here to see the news segment!
In the Summer of 1996, my brother Evan (who was interning at Microsoft while I was working there) and I went tandem skydiving at Kapowsin Air Sports located in the state of Washington. Attached to experts, we jumped out of a plane at approximately 12,500 feet and experienced almost 45 seconds of freefall down to about 4000 feet. (A lag shoot opens after the first few seconds slowing two divers down to the typical speed of one, approximately 120 M.P.H.) It then takes about 5 minutes to glide down to the ground. For an extra $40 each, we had additional expert divers who film everything with cameras in their helmets jump next to us. This video is spliced with some shots of the group as a whole at the start of start of the day and corny Tom Petty music is added. Check out my skydiving video or Evan's skydiving video! In the background is the beautiful Mt. Rainier.
