Place: CS Conference Room in MUDD
Abstract:
The PropBank is an annotation project currently underway at the University of Pennsylvania. The goal is to add additional, richer layers of annotation to the Penn TreeBank (PTB). In the first phase, which is currently coming to its end, the PTB was augmented with predicate-argument structure. As this resource may be of interest to many of us here at Columbia, I will briefly present the type of annotation and relate it to other lexical-semantic annotations. (I have not been involved in creating the PropBank; however, I have used it.)
