IWLS-02
is pleased to be co-located with DAC-02
in New Orleans
IWLS provides an international, friendly, and relaxed forum to promote research and exchange ideas about all aspects of IC synthesis, optimization, and verification. The workshop encourages early dissemination of ideas and results.
Sponsorship -- This year, we welcome ACM SIGDA which joins IEEE Computer Society as a co-sponsor of IWLS.Paper Presentations -- Papers accepted for presented talks will be designated for either full-length (25 minutes, including questions) or short (15 minutes, including questions).
Expanded Poster Sessions -- This year, every accepted paper will also be presented in poster sessions, to encourage further discussions.
Focus Groups -- Last year, we had breakout sessions into small groups each of which performed a "collaborative problem solving" exercise. It was a productive and enjoyable activity, and will be repeated this year. Attendees will be divided into groups, each tackling a challenging problem submitted through the web and selected by the focus group chair. Conclusions will be presented at a plenary session near the end of the workshop. The EDA community is encouraged to submit possible logic and synthesis problems through http://home.attbi.com/~kukimoto/iwls02.htm.Name Change -- In 2001, our name changed from the International Workshop on Logic Synthesis to the International Workshop on Logic AND Synthesis. The name change reflects the change in the industry and our paper submission in the past few years. The submissions now spans a wide range of topic related to logic and synthesis. The name change also reflects the workshop organizers desire to expand the workshop to include all aspects of logic and synthesis.
This year's workshop will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, in a hotel in the French Quarter (to be announced shortly). The workshop will be June 4-7, 2002, the week right before the Design Automation Conference which is co-located in New Orleans. This also is a popular time slot for many of the workshop attendees. For any questions, please contact any members of the technical committee, or send email to webmaster@iwls.org.
