Below is some important information on preparing for your poster presentation. NOTE: All IWLS-02 authors are expected to make a poster presentation -- whether your paper has been accepted for a talk or poster-only. ----------------- 1. Set-up: ----------- Soha Hassoun (General Chair) is acquiring poster boards + pins, so you don't need to bring these. The poster board dimensions are: horizontal: 3 FEET vertical: 4 FEET Typically, authors bring some printed out sheets, and tack them to the poster boards. Given the above dimensions, whether you use 8.5x11 inch or A4 sheets, you have enough space for about 16 PAGES. Keep these limits in mind when you prepare your poster presentation. 2. When to set up your poster: ------------------------------- If you have a morning poster session, you should set up the previous evening. If you have an afternoon poster session, you should set up at the end of the lunch break. 3. Which poster session are you assigned to: --------------------------------------------- See the Advanced Program on the IWLS home page, http://www.iwls.org. a) If your paper was accepted for a POSTER PRESENTATION: - see Advance Program on the web for your assigned Poster Session b) If your paper was accepted for a TALK (either short or full-length): You will do a poster presentation in addition to your talk, to allow interaction with workshop attendees. Your assigned session is as follows: - For most such authors, your assigned Poster Session is the one *immediately following* your talk. For example, if your talk is in Session #1 (Tues. a.m.), you present a poster immediately afterwards in Poster Session #1. If your talk is in Session #2 or #3 (Tues. a.m. or early p.m.), you present in the subsequent Poster Session #2 (Tues. p.m.). [NOTE: in some cases, such a session will be the following morning!] - However, if your talk is very late in the workshop (Session #8 on Thursday, or Sessions #9-10 on Friday), then you will present your poster on THURSDAY AFTERNOON in Poster Session #4. [There is no poster session on Friday.] ----------------------
