COMS 6998: Internet Economics

This course will introduce modern topics in Internet Economics. We will first study the theoretical foundations from a game theoretic perspective, covering topics from cooperative and non-cooperative game theory. Topics include Information, Auctions, Bargaining and Coalitions and Mechanism Design. We will then move on to application areas like ISP settlements, Computational Advertising, P2P incentive mechanisms and Spectrum Auctions. Both real life case studies as well as research papers will be covered in class.
