hiking club
Not only is there a hiking club at Columbia, we are one of the most active hiking clubs in New York City! We have trips almost every weekend of good weather during the school year -- and some weekends with bad weather :)
I was the president last year. This year the president is Aaron Harnley. I am continuing to help out with some outreach activities. Here are links to:

Earth Institute hikes
In addition to much recreational hiking in the Hudson Valley, the
Catskills, and northern New Jersey (with occasional trips to the
Adirondacks and the White Mountains), the hiking club has begun a
series of educational hikes cosponsored by
The Earth Institute at
Columbia. These hikes explore the natural beauty, scientific
importance and sociopolitical relevance of many areas around New York
City, including Black Rock Forest, the Croton watershed (which
supplies water to all 5 boroughs), the Bronx River, and parts of the
Hudson bay and estuary.
