SIPUM Columbia unified messaging service
SIP/RTSP unified messaging server This module provides a centralized voice mail and answering machine capability to CINEMA (Columbia Internet Extensible Multimedia Architecture). This document describes the design of the module.
The primary objectives of the module are as follows:
- Receive call on behalf of the user. Based on mode in user identifier, either accept the call immediately or wait for some time before picking up the call.
- Prompt the caller to leave a voice message for the callee. The message is stored using RTSP media server.
- Inform the callee about the new arrival of the message using a variety of means such as email and SIP NOTIFY using Message Waiting Indication framework. The email notification lists other ways to access the message such as using RTSP client, SIP user agent, telephone via touch tone keys, and web browser.
The library depends on the Columbia LIBSIP++ and Columbia LIBRTSP libraries for SIP and RTSP functions.
