Welcome to Columbia SIP library

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol for Internet telephony, multimedia conferencing, instant messaging, presence, device control and event notification. LIBSIP++ is an easy to use C++ library that provides Columbia University's SIP implementation for user agent applications. SIP is an HTTP-like protocol with text-based messages and request-response architecture. The library uses other standards or protocols such as SDP (Session Description Protocol) for media capabilities.
