Policies

There will be no extensions for assignments. Partial credit will be considered for all incomplete work. Assignments may be accepted (and marked late) if they are submitted before answers are distributed. However, we shall be aiming to provide answers as soon after the due date as possible. Grading will be done by the teaching assistants, and all questions or complaints about grading should be directed to the TAs. Any grading-related complaints that cannot be resolved with the TAs should be submitted in writing to the instructor.

Group work is not permitted unless explicitly allowed. Violations of academic honesty will be handled according to the Computer Science Department's policy on academic honesty.

Electronic copies of all assignments and handouts will also be made available at the web site. The web site contains a link to a home page for the textbook where you will find some useful material, including a more extensive index for the textbook, and solutions to some of the textbook's exercises. The course notes used for this class are derived from notes available there. However, the 4111 notes may differ from the notes supplied on the textbook's web site, so use the 4111 web site as your primary source for lecture material.
