| Research: |
| My current research is mostly focused on
CPU scheduling and kernel resource management. Specifically, I am looking at
the scheduling issue when there are dependency among processes. I also do a lot of Linux kernel hacking,
instrumentation to implement my ideas. I love Linux, without which my
research can't be carried out. If you want to join the Linux community, I
have gathered a lot of useful web sites
here that you may be interested in. I had worked on the area of thin-client/server computing.
The thin-client/server computing model involves connecting thin-client
software or a thin-client hardware device with the server side using a
highly efficient network protocol.
A lot of thin-client/server system already exist, including Microsoft Windows
Terminal Server, Citrix MetaFrame,
SCO tarantella, GraphOn,
and AT&T VNC. I
did a lot of instrumentation and performance measurement to analysis what's
the bottleneck of VNC system. I also did a lot of implementation to improve
it's performance.

| Personal
Web Based Information Management Project: |
Personal Web Information Manager is
originally a class project for WHIM
class I took on Fall 2000. It's designed using Cocoon
XSP developed by Apache. Related technology includes JDBC, XML, Java
Servlet, JSP. Here is the
structure of this system. I am now using this system as my web based PIM
system. Click
