Description:

Intel Architecture Labs (IAL) engineers, working within the Internet Media Initiative, have developed an add-on module to the University of California Davis-Simple Network Management Protocol (UCD-SNMP) package.

An exploratory technology, this package will help implement the Real-Time Transport Protocol Management Information Base (RTP MIB), currently being drafted in the Audio/Video Transport (AVT) working group of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

The included source code provides one implementation with which you can monitor RTP multicast traffic on your network through existing SNMP-based network management products. IAL engineers compiled and tested this implementation on FreeBSD* 2.2.2 with the UCD SNMP 3.3 agent package. They anticipate easy installation on any system supporting the UCD package.
