Progress on June 19 – July 17
(still in catch-up period) Plans:
    1. A summary of event notification systems/projects I had read about. Comparison if possible. Event notification model used. Any topic particular is well solved. Scalability, security, etc.
    2. A summary of event protocols (mentioned in Adam’s Internet draft titled ‘Scenarios for an Internet-Scale Event Notification Service (ISENS)’).. Comparison if possible. What models used, etc.
    3. based on powerpoints at WISEN, a short summary of 'things to consider' in referring to event notification system.
    4. add in my event models essay CORBA Event Service for real-time applications. (base on Douglas's TAO system)
    5. The following topics should be added in event models essay as reading paper #28 or later on reading.
    6. eager to read AOL instant messaging standard and other five proposals submitted to IETF by June 25. --could not find
    7. OMG had a Request for Proposal in 1997 on Notification Services. Found papers collected for this RFP at http://www.omg.org/members/doclist-97.html and search for key word 'Notification'. Skim them. -- unfortunately OMG have re-done their page and their bug to access membership pages through IE without authorization has fixed.
    8. Skim through all the papers on Adam’s paper/system list. Purpose is that starting with something we can find, we abstract from these papers models of event system, classify systems according to models. For topic lack of resource, keep a re-visit list and re-visit them when finding more sources.
    9. Search from the site normos.org for most recent Internet draft on event notifications.
