In order to program the XBee chips, the X-CTU program must be used. Available here: http://www.digi.com In addition, a way to attach the chip to the computer is required, such as a XBee Explorer USB, from Sparkfun: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8687 In order to program the chip: 1. Connect the chip to the XBee Explorer and connect it to the computer 2. Load the X-CTU software and select the serial port from the list that is connected to the chip. 3. Select the Modem Configuration tab. 4. In the Profile section, click Load and select the profile from the repository that you wish to load. 5. Hold the XBee chip in reset by connecting the RESET pin (pin 5) on the chip to GND. 6. In the X-CTU software, click Write. 7. A window will open, stating to release the chip from reset. Disconnect the GND pin from RESET. 8. The chip will begin to be programmed and the status message will state the programming is complete.
