The IRT lab is located next to the Interschool
Lab, on the 7th floor of the Schaphiro Center for Engineering
and Physical Science Research
(commonly called CEPSR or Schapiro). Careful: There is also a Schapiro
dormitory building outside of the main campus. In case you get lost,
you can reach the lab phone at 212-939-7040. Directions to Columbia
University can be found at the Columbia web page
If you are visiting the lab, you should get an
appointment with a lab member who can receive you.
An online tour shows directions to the lab and
various equipments we use for research in our lab.

IRT elsewhere...The IRT is the oldest of the New York City subway lines. Subways are a lot like
Internet real-time services: noisy and colorful inside, more or less
periodic arrivals, no guarantees of quality-of-service, more or less
fixed packet (train) lengths, and pricing does not depend on
distance. You can think of IP switching as the equivalent of (NYC)
express trains, skipping stations.
