Description of how to use the interface: THE SCREEN The upper left portion of the screen depicts the current room. Objects and players are shown as icons within the frame. Doors to adjacent rooms are shown in the middle of each of the four frame borders. The inventory displays the belongings of your player. The upper right portion of the screen may occasionally show a Gryphon, a Unicorn, or a Phoenix (further explained below). Health level: bar that depicts the present health condition of your player. Music ON/OFF: Turn background music on/off. SoundFX ON/OFF: Turn sound effects on/off. Register your player: enter your player's name, then hit "Register" to start the game. Send a message to a player: enter the message, select a player from the room, then hit "Send Message" Send a message to all players in the room: enter the message, then hit "Send Message" CRYSTALS dark green: increase your health level by 25% orange: set your health level to 100% black: decrease your health level by 25%; calm the Unicorn by feeding it with the black crystal blue: granade; drop in a room to fight your enemies; has no effect on your player's health dark cyan: turn on shield dark red: use on your enemies to decrease their health level by small amounts ACTIONS Collect crystals for your inventory: Pick up a crystal by clicking on it in the room view. Use crystals: Use a crystal by clicking on it in the inventory view. You may not use crystals before picking them up in the room view. Crystals that must be used in conjunction with a particular enemy or mystical appearance must be selected before or after clicking on the enemy in the room view or mystical appearance in the upper right view. Use a doorway by clicking on the appropriate door in the room view. MYSTICAL APPEARANCES Gryphon: By nature, the Gryphon is a harmless appearance, but when you attack it, it turns into a deadly opponent. You may only cause damage to it by throwing a dark red crystal at it, or dropping a granade (blue crystal). Unicorn: A harmless animal by nature, but unfriendly when attacked. Calm it by feeding it black crystals. Phoenix: An animal that cannot be defeated. A friendly conveyance to a random room, when selected
