NCDI Financial Industry Workshop

Financial Industry Workshop Process Description

  1. Assign participants into three groups, called A, B, and C where the choice of who is in which group is random, but proportionately distributed among the 3 classes of people--Financial service industry folks, academics/researchers, government personnel.
  2. Assign 3 fixed theme rooms where the facilitator and scribes are permanent to those rooms. These rooms will be the prevent, detect/respond, and recover/reconstitute rooms, respectively.
  3. Rotate participant group A, B and C in a round-robin fashion through the 3 fixed theme rooms.
  4. There will be thee time slots for working sessions.
  5. During time slot 1, group A will be in the prevent theme room, group B will be in the detect/respond theme room, and group C will be in the recover/reconstitute theme room. The focus will be on enumerating challenges.
  6. During time slot 2, group C will be in the prevent theme room, group A will be in detect/respond theme room, and group B will be in recover/reconstitute theme room. The focus will be on revisiting the enumerated challenges to bring the thinking of the fresh group to the problem...but then move on to ranking them.
  7. During time slot 3, group B will be in the prevent theme room, group C will be in detect/respond theme room, and group A will be in recover/reconstitute theme room. The focus of this time slot will be to revisit the enumerated list, the ranking to bring fresh ideas to the table. Then the group will move on to enumerate strategies for the top 3-5 challenges.
