The Department of Computer Science at Columbia University in New York City invites applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions. One or more appointments at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor levels will be considered. The successful candidate should contribute to the advancement of the Department by developing an externally funded research program, being a thought leader in the profession, contributing to the undergraduate and graduate educational mission of the Department and providing active service to professional societies. The Department is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
Candidates are sought in all areas of Computer Science. Candidates are also sought whose research overlaps with the newly formed Institute for Data Sciences and Engineering at Columbia: http://idse.columbia.edu/. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or its professional equivalent by the starting date of the appointment. Candidates at the Assistant Professor and Associate Professor levels without tenure must have the potential to do pioneering research and to teach effectively. Candidates at the tenured level (Associate or Full Professor) must have a demonstrated record of outstanding research accomplishments, excellent teaching credentials and established leadership in the field.
