MICE Track Selection & Editing

  • Once your MICE account has been set up, one of the first things you should do is select your concentration track.
    • While this can be changed at a later date, selecting your track helps focus your program and allocates a faculty advisor to you.
    • Log into your MICE account and select "Change my track" from the "Students" menu:

 MICE Track Select 1

  • You can then select your chosen track:

 MICE track select 2

  • If you want to do either the M.S. Thesis or Personalized track, you must first have a C.S. faculty member who has agreed to serve as your track advisor.
    • For all other tracks, your advisor is automatically allocated based on which track you select.
  • Once you've selected your track, any existing courses on your course record should be automatically allocated to relevant sections of your program plan.
  • You can now plan the rest of your M.S. program:
    • Select "My track plan" from the "Students" menu:
  MICE plan 1
  • This brings you to the planning page where you can add courses you plan on taking in future semesters to different sections of your program.
    • Note that you cannot add any courses already on your course record (viewable via the "My status" page accessed via the "Students" menu).
MICE plan 2
  •  Once your track plan is complete, you can submit it to your track advisor for their approval.
    • This should be done as soon as possible after you enter the program.
    • If you get your plan approved, but end up changing which courses you want to take, you will need to request re-approval from your advisor.
