M.S. Graduation
- When you know when you are planning on graduating,
you need to complete two forms: the Registrar's Application for
Degree and the SEAS Graduation Clearance form.
- The Registrar's form is available here.
- The deadline for submitting this form for February degree
conferral is in early November, for May conferral, early December, and
for October conferral, early August. Specific dates each year can
be found on the Registrar's webpage.
- Fill out the form online, print and sign it, and submit it directly to the Registrar's Office in Kent Hall:
- The second form you need to fill out is the SEAS graduation
clearance form which should be submitted to electronically as an
Excel file.
- Each track has its own Excel file tailored to that track:
- Fill out the relevant form, an example of which (Machine Learning) is shown below:
- Enter your name, UNI, and 9-digit PID (available on your SSOL account).
- Enter the month and year you plan to graduate in.
- Enter the semester you took the core and track required
courses you have completed.

- Email your completed form to .*
* If you do not submit the form, the Computer Science Student Services
will create your program plan as we see fit. If you have specific ways
you want to allocate your courses, we highly recommend you to submit
your own program plan.
- Do not get the SEAS graduation clearance form signed by your faculty advisor and please only submit it electronically.
- Once your paperwork has been processed, you will be added to the list of graduating students for that graduation cycle.
- If you are cleared for graduation at the department level, you will be notified via autmatic email from the MICE system.
- If you are not cleared at the department level, you will be notified of the reasons why via email.
- If you change you mind about graduating on a certain date, please notify SEAS Graduate Student Services.
You will automatically be rolled over to the next graduation cycle and
you do not need to resubmit your Application for Degree.
- SEAS will notify you of your official university graduation clearance.
- Diplomas are mailed to graduated students by the Registrar's Diploma Division.
